Last day of session four

It is hard to believe that we (Hammond Swim School) are at the end of session 4. I have taught in 3 of the 4 sessions this summer. So for the last 6 weeks I have been teaching swim lessons. I absolutely love it. Today was a gratifying last day, I had lots of beginners that have proven to swim very well for me. There are so many cameras during the last two days it would be amazing to know how many scrapbooks I have ever been in. This is my 8th summer, non-consecutive, in this pool. We have 2 babies and 5 to 6 kids on the step every half hour plus the deep end kids times the 8 years. So that is a lot of pictures of me, and not really always looking my best. Chewing on gum, talking, sometimes yelling I can only imagine the faces some people have caught. Well to the point of this great blog. A mom showed me one of the great pictures she got of me and her son talking on the step. I asked her if she could print it and bring it back to me. She got quiet and then said do you have email? I replied and jotted it down, thinking that maybe in a week or even months later I may end up with a neat surprise. Well I was sitting here surfing the web and she emailed me 4 great pictures. These 3 photos were taken today. I love the one on the upper left. It makes me sad that I never see these pictures that are taken of me. Well anyways the one below is a "look mom no hands". She caught it on the camera. Woohoo! These pictures are my favorite. This is from the last session that he was in. He came a long way in 4 weeks. On a sad note one of my students has a brain tumor. They found it after she was complaining of headaches for a while now. At swim lessons on Monday she was telling me she had a headache and I knew something wasn't right cause she loves to swim and I told her to take a break and rest. Well come to find out on Wednesday she was actually having double vision in the pool. The tumor is the size of a nectarine. She was in surgery today when her cousin came for his lesson. So keep her in your prayers. I took her cousin a bag of sketch paper, colored pencils and couple of coloring books to keep her company since she couldn't be swimming with me. Well all I have to tell you for now. This is a nice outlet to let everyone know what is going on in my humdrum life. I will post pics up as they come and thanks to those who sat and read this all.

Yeah! As one of your fiends who requested this blog, I am overly excited. Glad you decided to do it. My thoughts and prayers are with your brave swimmer.
