Movie Weekend
Watched a few movies this weekend. I watched Rails and Ties which was very sad, but very good. It was about a lady with Cancer and a lady with mental illness and how their worlds collide. Litterally! Also on the list was Fido which was about having Zombies as pets it was cute and lighthearted. I really enjoyed it alot. Troy hadn't seen King of California so watched that as well, excellent Michael Douglas movie that I highly reccomend. War of the Roses was on tv so we watched it as well. There are more but can't remember what else. Yesterday we picked up freecycle stuff. Gotta love freecylce. I have a bed thanks to that. We got rid of a refridgerator through freecycle as well. Picked up a plastic tub(like for toys outside or for a party to keep ice and drinks in) and a plastic bin with a lid. Also got some towels. Somehow I have stuff in storage that I can't find or that Jason ended up with. Not sure which. I have gone and skimmed through my storage unit looking for towels. With freecycle you never know what you are going to get. I ended up with some decent towels. They remind me that they were in a spare bathroom and were never used. The lady lived in a huge house out in the country. The towels are pink and green. The kids decided to come over last night to spend the night. I made a green bean casserole with chicken in it. A big hit I might add (they had their doubts when they sat down to eat). On saturday night I made stuffed peppers that were awesome. I had to go to Target last night to get some sunscreen, so we all went. We walked around and went through the nursery part, it is closed off so we got it all to ourselves. Brett is really interested in plants (asking what everything was) and living creatures. We found some bamboo for a turtle pen and other drought tollerent plants. Mike left so we are able to put them in that room at night now. That was nice not to have to put them to bed in the living room. Brett just woke up after 11 hours of sleeping. We made oatmeal for breakfast and are ready to start the day.

One Class Left
I only have one class left to get my AA and to graduate next spring. So plan on a graduation next year. I actually got to petition to graduate yesterday while I was in the counselors office. I also got to see my aunt and cousin in the morning before my appointment. They came by work on their way through from Oakhurst. So that was a nice surprise. I had a picture but I can't find it. This was my Friday!

Just wanted to share my day
So today I had an appointment at West Hills College. The councelor was running behind and I had to get to work. So she opened up her schedule on Friday for me. We talked a little bit I hadn't seen her in 2 years. That really all we got to chat about. Her daughter just had brain surgery. She had a cyst on the left side of her brain that they removed. They were all doing well. I stopped and talked with everyone I saw that I knew. It is a nice place to be. There is an opening for the position that I did interum(sp?) a couple of years ago. The problem is that I don't interview very well and really I might just need full time, I will figure it out I have a week to decide if the hours would be enough. Well really this all for now I am headed to make dinner and get to bed at some point soon.
House BBQ/Meet the House family
These are from our House BBQ we had a few weeks ago and I thought I would share some about my roomates. Mike is the owner of the house I am living in. He has a son who is 9. Mike left for a 40 day prequil to his journey to Iraq. He is going to sort of a bootcamp stint prior to leaving for Iraq. He was teased this morning that he was going to Hulk up. Gotta love the love for comic books around this house. He will be missed around here. When he comes back he will be here for a couple of days and then off to Iraq for a year give or take a few months. We knew this BBQ was the last we would all be together and it was. It was fun though. Mikes real job is working in corrections for the state of CA. My other roomate Craig is a contractor and works for a company that builds pools. He has a love for turtles and many other animals. I didn't get a pic of him this day. He has 4 or 5 turtles/tortoises and 2 geckos. He just got a baby greek tortoise she is the size of a half dollar. I was sitting with her the other night and loving on her. She is very tame and just sat there with me. Pictures to come later.

This is Mike............

Brett eating watermelon.......He only looks cute!

Calvin (Mikes son) and Shariann in our backyard the picture does no justice for how huge it is.

Close up of Calvin I caught him he was trying to hide.

Katie, Troys oldest daughter, wouldn't look at me and the other picture I took she turned around so this is all I got this day.

This is Troy and I. Mike decided that we had to have our picture taken.

Much better, all smiles. Troy taking a break from eating watermelon. These are all the pictures I have time to edit right now. More to come later.

My Wild Weekend
I have to say that I had a great weekend. My wild weekend started on Friday night when I picked up Brett and Shey. We had dinner and went grocery shopping for our surprise day. The kids had no idea where they were headed til Saturday, Shey figured it out when we got to Kettleman City. We went to the coast for the day on Saturday. I took pictures and right now I have no access to my computer. So I will post a few pictures that I took on the beach later on. We went to Cayucus and set up for a picnic under an umbrella on a big blanket. We packed sandwiches and chips. The kids couldn't eat fast enough. They headed for the water. Shey had a ball in the water, Brett got cold and shivery really fast. He ended up playing in the sand where it was warmer. We have had over 100 degree days for a week or so now. So the 70 to 80's were very cool. I had a sweatshirt on most of the day. We ended up at Montana de Oro around 3 or 4, that beach is a geographers dream. The beach is all rocks, no sand. The only sand is ground rocks and patches of whole rocks so your feet get sore fast. And the small rocks get in your flip flops and make you uncomfortable. Next time we take tennis shoes that we get wet in. I remember that as a young girl scout and then quickly remembered why. I wished I had a bucket to bring back more rocks. I filled a baggie full. We didn't get to see to many sea creatures because the tide was still high. I want to go back and see more of the tide pools. We found small clams and a crab. Brett and I were in heaven. Brett found one shell that he wanted to take home, it stuck to his thumb, it ended up having a clam in it. We convinced him to leave it alive in the ocean. Troy and I tried to keep them dry so we could go eat but that didn't work out too well. But it worked out ok in the end. We got our feet cleaned off after treking back to the car. We went to Morro Bay to eat clam chowder at the Lil Hut. Yummy. We stopped at a candy stand I had never seen before. And then headed for home. The kids were asleep before we got to old highway. Yesterday we went to the movies and saw Hellboy 2. I have to say that I had no desires to see this movie but went anyways. I really enjoyed it. I have gotten acclimated with all these comic book character movies. I am starting to get into them surprisingly enough. Today started a new session and my schedule is 9-6 with a half an hour break before I get into the pool. So I am going to be busy for at least a few days. We are playing it by ear since the end of the summer is near. We have one more session so another month left. I need to figure out what I am going to do. I am not really sure besides going to school. I have an appointment with a councelor this week to figure out what I might need to transfer, only one class left to graduate next June. I am even thinking about a paper route to make my schedule flexible. Ok well enough of me. I will post pictures as soon as my computer gets back up and running, one of my roomates just got a new computer so my computer desk got snagged. Mine will be up and running tomorrow.

Happy 4th of July
Today was actually a fun day for someone who had to work. I went in at 9 this morning so missed the festivities at the Lemoore Park which I was informed was going on until 8 tonight. I got off at 3 and hung out at work til 6. I haven't done this yet this year. The day fell apart for swimming by the very end but for the most part they still kept coming in. We had one teacher that got off an hour and a half early. She is the one this summer that gets all the breaks so it was comical. She got off when I did but got in an hour and a half after me. I went over to Troys sisters and hung out with Becky, her husband Mario and daughter Annalee or Annie for short. She has been in swim lessons for the last three weeks. She is a pip. We went for a walk down the block. She is two years old and just talks and talks up a storm. Troys mom and dad were there also so I really enjoyed myself they make me feel extremely welcome over there. I miss mom and dad being that its the 4th. I miss making ice cream and all that makes up a true Sparlin 4th. Maybe next year I can make it there to be with them on the 4th. I left before it got dark and headed for home. I made it before all the madness started on the streets. I kept hearing all the banging, clanking and whistling. I finally got curious about half an hour ago. There are two high schools doing a show within viewing distance from the front yard plus all the neighbors creating their shows. Now I am back here finishing this blog started an hour ago. Ready to sleep. Hope you all had a great and wonderful 4th of July. I sure did!!!!
