Wall-E

Sunday was a lot of fun. Troys kids came over on Saturday night after their party with mom. It was late and they went straight to sleep. We got up early on Sunday morning and headed to the Sunday sale or swap meet as one of the girls pointed out. We didn't find anything great. It got hot way to fast and with three kids it was time to go home almost as soon as we got there. They were troopers though. We got a watermelon on our way out. And stopped and got corn and peaches a little down the road. We got home and I cut up the melon, they devoured it. It had seeds in it which I was a little dissappointed with but they didn't seem to mind. They played games and sang on the PS2 singing game. We went and saw Wall-E around 2 in the afternoon. I give it a 10 on my star rating. I absolutely loved it. It was all about the earth and taking care of it. A GREEN MOVIE what a concept. The message behind it was fantastic. I am so ready to go see it again. It was also in part about taking care of yourself and that is the message the kids got out of it. I asked them if it was about taking care of the planet we live in, they got real quiet and thought, YES it did have that too I was told. We came home and I started dinner we had a big house BBQ. My other two roomates contributed more meat and we had a tritip smothered in Ravens. YUMMY! We cooked the corn on the grill after getting the shucks pulled down and the silks off we(Katie and I) buttered it and wrapped them back up. Grilling it makes the best corn on the cob ever. And topped it off with pasta salad that was devoured as well. Mike(roomate) had his son Calvin this weekend so there were four kids running around here. Katie helped me in the kitchen as much as possible. She ended up losing it at some point and went home. Her dad told her to eat with the kids she wasn't having it. Kinda like someone else I know, ME. Well we topped our great meal off with a rootbeer float. We got a jug of rootbeer from A&W the best rootbeer floats I have had in a while. The kids loved them as well. That was my Sunday and Monday I started a new session of new kids. Its been an ok few days. I think I went to the diving board with about half my classes, which means that we are moving along and not too many are crying or still scared. I only have six classes, woohoo for that. I am working 9-3 and only in the water from 12-3. So here I sit about to go to the store soon and happy to be off with so much daylight ahead. Hope all are havng a great week! I took pictures this weekend and will share them soon. I will also tell you about the house I am living in and the people I am living with. Till then............

Lazy Saturday

Well I have been intructed that this is a great way for some to learn of my life. Today is just kick back. It is Troys weekend to have the kids. They were here last night before he got home from work. They stayed the night and left for a party this afternoon. I just woke up from a nap. They wore me out apparently. We went to yard sales this morning. We didn't find anything to great. We did find a few plants from a fantastic plant lady. I will include pictures for you all. The cactus garden has a beautiful blooming cactus in it. The other is a spider plant and the lady said that there was mint and other plants in the pot with it. Last week when went to yard sales with the kids we found stuff and one of the things we found was a couple of short skirts. I bought them to share with Katie and I like them so much I am not sure that she will be able to wear them very much. So in my yard saling with a teanager I have discoverd that I like short mini skirts! Today we found a dress and sweatshirt for Katie, we found some toys for Brett, and got Shay some books also. I really think that is all. I am going to get some stuff done around the house for now including laundry to get through this week. The kids will be back this evening, so I am sure there more to report tomorrow. We are going to the movies to see Wall-E. I will be working 9:00 to 3:30. I am excited to have the afternoons off to get stuff done, like napping possibly.

Last day of session four

It is hard to believe that we (Hammond Swim School) are at the end of session 4. I have taught in 3 of the 4 sessions this summer. So for the last 6 weeks I have been teaching swim lessons. I absolutely love it. Today was a gratifying last day, I had lots of beginners that have proven to swim very well for me. There are so many cameras during the last two days it would be amazing to know how many scrapbooks I have ever been in. This is my 8th summer, non-consecutive, in this pool. We have 2 babies and 5 to 6 kids on the step every half hour plus the deep end kids times the 8 years. So that is a lot of pictures of me, and not really always looking my best. Chewing on gum, talking, sometimes yelling I can only imagine the faces some people have caught. Well to the point of this great blog. A mom showed me one of the great pictures she got of me and her son talking on the step. I asked her if she could print it and bring it back to me. She got quiet and then said do you have email? I replied and jotted it down, thinking that maybe in a week or even months later I may end up with a neat surprise. Well I was sitting here surfing the web and she emailed me 4 great pictures. These 3 photos were taken today. I love the one on the upper left. It makes me sad that I never see these pictures that are taken of me. Well anyways the one below is a "look mom no hands". She caught it on the camera. Woohoo! These pictures are my favorite. This is from the last session that he was in. He came a long way in 4 weeks. On a sad note one of my students has a brain tumor. They found it after she was complaining of headaches for a while now. At swim lessons on Monday she was telling me she had a headache and I knew something wasn't right cause she loves to swim and I told her to take a break and rest. Well come to find out on Wednesday she was actually having double vision in the pool. The tumor is the size of a nectarine. She was in surgery today when her cousin came for his lesson. So keep her in your prayers. I took her cousin a bag of sketch paper, colored pencils and couple of coloring books to keep her company since she couldn't be swimming with me. Well all I have to tell you for now. This is a nice outlet to let everyone know what is going on in my humdrum life. I will post pics up as they come and thanks to those who sat and read this all.
